Albert and Lena Gleockner Collection (MC 236)

Biographical Note

Albert Lee Gleockner was born on June 4, 1890 in Forksville, Pennsylvania and died February 29, 1968 in Sayre, Pennsylvania. His parents were David and Mary Gloeckler, according to an affidavit in the collection. The spelling of Albert's name was changed at some point to Gleockner . In the 1900 census the family name is spelled Glockler. Lena Ensley Gleockner was born in Tennessee to James and Mary Ensley around 1900. They were divorced in Pennsylvania on November 5, 1928 and re-married in Georgia on March 7, 1929. Their son, Lee Samuel Gleockner, was born August 20, 1928 in Estella, Pennsylvania.

Scope and Content

This collection contains legal documents relating to the Gleockners, as well as correspondence and papers relating to World War I, union activities, fraternal organizations, and the funeral of David Gleockner (1861-1943) in Forksville, Pennsylvania 1917-1987 1 box (.3 l.f.)
