Columbus Public Library Photograph Collection (MC 332)

Scope and Content

This collection of photographs of the Columbus, Georgia area covers a wide range of topics and dates, from late the 1800s to more modern times. All are black and white, mostly 8 x 10 in size. The pictures are arranged by topic and the folders are in alphabetical order by subject. The last folder (Number 32) contains an inventory/index of the photographs, some with detailed identification and others with very little.

Permission to Publish

Permission to publish material from the Columbus Public Library Photograph Collection must be obtained from the Columbus State University Archives at Columbus State University. Use of the following credit line for publication or exhibit is required:

Provenance

This collection was donated to the CSU Archives in the fall of 2013 when the Columbus Public Library closed its archival collection. Many of the photos are labeled on the back "from the files of Betty Lawrence Taylor".
